NCDev Hackathon Returns To Upington

It is the only provincial hackathon in South African and alternates between different towns in the Northern Cape each year. The Northern Cape Developer Hackathon (NCDevHack) is an annual provincial hackathon (coding and innovation festival) aimed at stimulating and developing more ICT/Entrepreneurship in the province.
NCDevHack is hosted together with the Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) under the knowledge management unit which was part of the creation of NCDev Ecosystem in 2022 to facilitate apps development skills and solutions in the province.

Upington will be host town this weekend as the NCDev Hackathon takes place at the Entrepreneurship Centre of the Sol Plaatje University. The hackathon will be joined and supported by the team from the Centre of Public Service Innovation(CPSI) who will provide some guidance in development of the solutions.
Working together in teams, participants will brainstorm and work on developing the solution in a 24 hour time-frame, these teams will work towards accomplishing the challenge statements, build MVPs and develop business plans for their projects. After the hacking ends, each team will pitch their idea to our esteemed judges who will select the best projects and award prizes to the winners.
For the first time, the hackathon will be hosted virtual and invites developers from different parts of the province to participate.
